A Printers Row Journal book columnist shared an interesting fact this past weekend.

For the first time in history, TV series adaptations of books are outnumbering movie versions of books.

John Warner gave credit for the fact to The Atlantic, where we headed to check out more on what the magazine had reported.

What we learned: TV adaptations increase both a book’s sales and its prestige, and that no matter the genre or setting, “episodic plots, ensemble casts, and intricate world-building” seem to push a book more quickly onto the small screen.

Learn more about “must-read TV,” as the headline cheekily puts it, in The Atlantic.
