If Jeopardy! fans — or at least those in a recent survey — had been in charge of casting, LeVar Burton would be the game show’s new host.
Yahoo! reports that 14 percent of respondents to a Morning Consult poll said the former Reading Rainbow host should fill the late Alex Trebek’s shoes.
That’s a bit ahead of actress Mayim Bialik, who earned 13 percent of votes in the survey (and a supplemental hosting gig in real life).
But it’s significantly more than executive producer Mike Richards – who received the actual job before announcing he would step down — got in the poll (just 3 percent).
Interestingly, the respondents didn’t seem to be aware of or much fazed by discrimination lawsuits in Richards’s past.
