Middle-grade books — or at least the books we read at that age — have a tendency to stick with us for the rest of our reading lives.

And many of the best examples of this trend feature memorable pairs of friends, as author and film producer Adam Borba points out.

Consider Charlotte and Wilbur; Harry, Ron, and Hermione; and Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia, and Stacey.
