The Digital Reader’s Nate Hoffelder has a warning for romance authors who sell wide: check on your Apple Books listings.

One such author recently noticed that the store has added an “explicit” label to her ebooks, without their input.

Regina Kammer, the writer who made this discovery, said the ebooks Apple has marked are definitely not erotic, while fellow authors who readily describe their works as explicit aren’t seeing such labels.

Hoffelder shared what little is public about the Apple Books labeling process and what bigger issues he thinks this reveals at The Digital Reader.
