Author Sandra Wendel can handle constructive criticism — in fact, she invites it throughout the writing process.

But she, like most people, draws the line at inaccurate and spiteful reviews.

Wendel recently received such a review, unfortunately, and even more unfortunately, she’s not alone.

What to do about it? One can, of course, report violations of community guidelines on the website where it was posted.
And one can also educate readers about their power for good, too.

Wendel makes two polite requests about reviewing to readers in a Medium post.
