Celebrity book clubs have released their picks for January 2022.

Reese Witherspoon selected Honor, by Thrity Umrigar.

The book tells the story of Smita, an Indian American journalist who reluctantly returns to her native land to cover a story that stirs up her repressed past and conflicting emotions.

Jenna Bush Hager picked The School for Good Mothers, by Jessamine Chan.

The thriller tells the story of Frida, who believes the one role she excels in is that of a mother … but an ominous government agency disagrees and whisks her away to a terrifying reform institution.

Good Morning America chose The Maid, by Nita Prose.

The novel follows Molly, a young woman who has embraced her quirks and her life as a hotel maid, but whose world is turned upside down when she discovers a wealthy man — dead — in his room.

You can read an excerpt of The Maid in GMA's announcement of its choice.

(And, yes, oops, we missed December 2021's selections! Witherspoon chose Lucky, by Marissa Stapley; Hager chose Bright Burning Things, by Lisa Harding; and GMA chose Dava Shastri's Last Day, by Kirthana Ramisetti.)
