Former Defense Secretary Mark Esper has dropped a lawsuit against the Department of Defense, in relation to his upcoming memoir.

His lawyer said Friday that the Pentagon had dropped redactions on the "overwhelming majority" of passages that it said contained classified material, according to the New York Times.

Esper still disputes that certain sections of A Sacred Oath, his memoir of working in the Trump administration, should be classified, but those portions aren't central to the book, according to his lawyer.

A Sacred Oath comes out May 10.
