Happy birthday to Sylvia Beach!

There's one literary birthday girl whose name you haven't seen on a book spine — but there's no denying her contribution to literature.

It's Sylvia Beach, the publisher and founder of famous Parisian bookstore Shakespeare and Company.

Born on this day in 1887, she's widely known for ensuring that James Joyce could publish Ulysses; author Kerri Maher, who wrote the novel The Paris Bookseller, shares six key facts about Beach that lit lovers should know.
