Things we missed by not being on TikTok: the Charles Dickens Museum has successfully petitioned for its reinstatement on the platform.

You might wonder why its account would have been banned in the first place.

Well, Literary Hub explains that it was what's known as shadow-banned — that is, not accessible via search — because the first four letters of the author's last name can be used to refer to a certain body part that TikTok doesn't want users to show.

Fortunately, the museum took its troubles to Twitter, and its #FreeDickens campaign was successful in about two days.
