Stakeholders in the book ban battles speak up

The wave of book bans and challenges shows no signs of stopping, unfortunately.

So we'll continue to highlight those speaking (and acting) against them.

NPR spoke to several children's authors who write about trans characters to hear what inspired them to write these stories and what they hope to accomplish.

The Guardian also spoke to authors of diverse-charactered books, to hear the increasing challenges they're facing.

And The Hill shares, through an op-ed by Javaid Siddiqi, the harm that book bans and challenges cause for historically marginalized communities.

Siddiqi is the president and CEO of the Hunt Institute, which aims to inform policymakers on issues in education.
