The coronavirus pandemic inspired some writers' fiction directly, to which many readers responded with horror.

But certainly there are others who are curious to see how authors handle such an eventful time, as well as plenty of other developments that lend themselves well to fiction.

Author Nancy Johnson has come up with three tips for using real-world events, which she shares in a video — with example texts — at Writer Unboxed.
