There's just something so appealing, to us, about databases that invite you to enter your hometown's ZIP code in order to learn something about it.

And we're evidently not alone, because the folks at Crossword-Solver took Goodreads data to create a searchable database of where novels are set in the US.

As you might suspect, New York City is the most common setting, and New York is the most-used state.

But the other comment-worthy findings that they highlighted? Every novel set in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, is listed as historical, and over 90 percent of novels set in Bloomington, Indiana, are romances.
