Another youth poet laureate has continued to rack up the achievements.

Leila Mottley, who filled that role for Oakland, California, in 2018, has released her first novel at age nineteen.

And that novel — Nightcrawling – is Oprah Winfrey's latest book club selection.

A Winfrey spokesperson told the Associated Press that Mottley is the youngest author ever to be included in the long-running book club.

Mottley described herself as "absolutely floored" when Winfrey joined a meeting with her publishers to share the news.

Nightcrawling follows the survival struggle of siblings Marcus and Kiara, the latter of whom turns to prostitution to keep them fed and housed ... a decision that quickly becomes more than what she expected.
