Well, maybe White Noise isn't unfilmable after all.
The movie adaptation of Don DeLillo's 1985 novel will open this year's Venice International Film Festival.
Festival attendees will be able to watch it on August 31 at the Sala Grande at the Palazzo del Cinema on the Lido.
The festival's director praised the film, which stars Adam Driver, Greta Gerwig, and Don Cheadle, and commented on its "very clear references to contemporary reality," according to the Associated Press.
Earlier this year, the blog World of Reel shared rumors about drama on set and budgets going out of control.
The book blurb for White Noise describes it as a “satire of mass culture and the numbing effects of technology”; the protagonist is a professor of Hitler studies whose life is upended by an industrial accident’s lethal black cloud.
