There’s new — and not great – news about the Oklahoma teacher under fire for sharing a QR code to the Brooklyn Public Library’s online collection with her students.

The state's current education secretary and candidate to become Oklahoma’s state schools superintendent is calling for Summer Boismier’s teaching certification to be revoked, reports The Oklahoman.

Boismier, last month, not only shared the QR code but also covered books in her classroom with red butcher paper and labeled them as "books the state doesn’t want you to read."

These actions were in response to a new state law blocking schools from teaching eight concepts on race and gender; they elicited complaints from a parent, and Boismier decided to resign from her job at Norman High School.

She was not, as Education Secretary Ryan Walters has claimed, fired.

The current state schools superintendent declined to comment on Walters's call to revoke Boismier's license.
