It's been a week full of big news developments in England, with the formal ascension of Liz Truss to prime minister and the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

So, of course, it's time on this blog to talk about thematic reading material.

The New York Times lists nine books about (or including) Queen Elizabeth II that have come out over the years.

But we'll have to wait for deep dives into Truss.

The Guardian reports that Out of the Blue, written by two longtime newspaper editors, will come out December 8, at least in the United Kingdom.

Another biography of Truss, untitled as of yet, will come out in the second half of 2023 from businessman, pollster and writer Lord Ashcroft.

Ashcroft is known for his unauthorized biographies of other British political figures, some of them heavily disputed by the subjects' supporters.
