How actress Florence Pugh befriended author John le Carré

The celebrity world is full of unexpected friendships.

Think Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg, for example.

Or — the late spy novelist John le Carré and actress Florence Pugh.

Literary Hub shared a few favored tidbits from Pugh's interview with Vogue. 

The pair evidently had lunch one time while Pugh was working on an adaptation of a Le Carré novel; ultimately the pair struck up a friendship, but during that meal, she did call him an "old fart."

He repaid the favor, says Lit Hub, by naming a "talented but occasionally insubordinate young spy" in a later novel after Pugh.
