Celebrity book clubs have released their picks for February 2023.

Reese Witherspoon selected The House of Eve by Sadeqa Johnson.

The novel introduces us to Ruby and Eleanor, two young women in the 1950s both yearning to make something of themselves but confronting numerous obstacles along the way.

Jenna Bush Hager picked Maame by Jessica George.

It's the story of Maddie, a twenty-something eager to break out from her parents' home (and its traditional Ghanaian culture) and into the Western life she sees around her in London ... which is all easier said than done.

Good Morning America chose River Sing Me Home by Eleanor Shearer.

The book begins with the announcement that slavery has ended in Barbados, to be replaced by a six-year compulsory "apprenticeship" — and follows Rachel as she escapes the plantation on a search for the five children stolen from her.

You can read an excerpt of River Sing Me Home in GMA's announcement of its selection.
