What does the Internet Archive lawsuit mean to readers?

Big organizations and corporations battling each other can often feel like something that only distantly affects the average person's daily life.

Of course, we often find ourselves taking sides, depending on which behemoth strikes us as bad (or worse than the other).

But we might not realize that we have more than a hypothetical interest in the outcomes.

Traditional publishing's lawsuit against the Internet Archive is one of those situations, according to the magazine The Walrus.

Tajja Isen writes in a recent article that a court decision in favor of big publishing could in fact have a major effect on libraries and the readers who enjoy their digital lending.
