Two accomplished authors who died in the past couple of years haven't fully left us — they've invited us into their offices, so to speak, by leaving their archives to public institutions.
Toni Morrison's archives are currently the star of a new exhibit at Princeton University, where she taught.

We'll have to wait a few years before similar articles on Joan Didion appear, but at the very least, we can live vicariously through The New York Times, which reported on the New York Public Library’s party to celebrate its acquisition of Didion's archives.
