In the past week or so, the Guardian has shared — or covered — interviews with the winners of some significant literary awards.

Georgi Gospodinov, winner of the 2023 International Booker Prize for Time Shelter, discussed how the fears that inspired his novel have seemed to become reality.

Shehan Karunatilaka, winner of the 2022 Booker Prize for The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida, explained in a first-person piece how Choose Your Own Adventure books led to his literary success.

And Annie Ernaux, winner of the 2022 Nobel Prize in Literature, compared the victory to a bomb in a conversation with fellow author Sally Rooney.
