Writer Unboxed and Writer's Digest both have new posts on the topic of who's telling a particular story.
In the case of the former, it's a little bit more traditional — author Jeanne Kisacky discusses shifting her own work from a distant third-person to a close third-person point of view, and how she determined which character could be the POV person in any particular scene.
In the case of the latter, though, it's about retelling fairytales — specifically, why author Wallace West decided to redo "Cinderella" from a queer point of view and how he went about doing so.
