It’s the reverse of BookTok, in a way.

Ten years ago, food bloggers were realizing their online presence could lead to successful cookbooks.
Now, it’s TikTok stars’ turn to tap into that.

The New York Times profiled this reversal of BookTok, in a way — rather than showing existing books to new fans, TikTok stars are using their existing fans as inspiration for book-writing dreams.

The recipe for success in cookbook sales, it seems, is a connection with the author's personality, more so than professional writing or cooking credentials.
