Our book news sources had three different posts that could fall under bookish birthdays, to a certain extent, over the past week.

  • This December, we'll see the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birth, and her fans are already preparing to celebrate (NPR).

  • Caleb Azumah Nelson delivered a toast to Virginia Woolf's Mrs. Dalloway, which turned 100 years old this past May (The Guardian).

  • Garrett M. Graff talks to Morning Edition's Scott Simon about his new release, The Devil Reached Toward The Sky, which is both about and came out around the anniversary of the atomic bombs first being dropped (NPR).
