  • Here are the six finalists for Barnes & Noble's 2025 Discover Prize, which celebrates debut novels (B&N). 

  • Irish author Sally Rooney couldn't attend an awards ceremony this week because she feared arrest if she entered the UK, given her support of the banned group Palestine Action, according to her publisher (The Guardian). 

  • A judge has revived a lawsuit from estate of late author Michael Crichton against the TV show The Pitt; last year, Crichton's widow filed the suit, saying the estate must be involved with (and paid for) any reboots or spinoffs of the show ER and that The Pitt is, in fact, a reboot or spinoff (Literary Hub).
