  • Summer of Fire and Blood: The German Peasants’ War by Lyndal Roper has won the 2025 Cundill History Prize, which brings a $75,000 prize (Literary Hub). 

  • Meet the winners of the 2025 Comedy Women in Print Prizes, including the winner of the inaugural Jilly Cooper Award (The Guardian). 

  • Alan Hollinghurst has received the 2025 David Cohen Prize for Literature; the £40,000 (about $52,200) award is one of the UK and Ireland’s most prestigious (The Guardian). 

  • How to End a Story by Helen Garner has become the first collection of diaries to earn its author the Baillie Gifford Prize for Nonfiction and its £50,000 (about $65,200) purse (The Guardian)
