The publishing experts we follow have plenty of advice to offer, spanning a variety of topics.

Here are the ones that we thought were can't-miss for our authors:

  • Research interviews for fiction writers: Author Sally Kilpatrick shares seven tips to get the maximum amount of the most useful information from an interview, so that your fiction will feel as authentic as possible (Writer's Digest).

  • Differentiating narrators in a multiple-viewpoint story: Becca Puglisi says authors should start by considering, carefully, which character should narrate each scene; once that's determined, she has suggestions on how to make sure readers are clear on who is speaking in each scene or chapter (Writers Helping Writers).

  • Two platforms, two stances on AI: Dan Holloway reports that while WordPress is adding artificial intelligence features, Patreon is taking a much more cautious — and critical — approach to AI (Alliance of Independent Authors).
