The publishing experts we follow have plenty of craft advice to offer.

Here are the ones that we thought were can't-miss for our authors:

  • Seven things writers should know about verbs: Sarah L. Kaufman, author of Verb Your Enthusiasm, encourages authors to make good use of English's abundance of "manner of motion" verbs, when compared with other languages.

  • Write what you don't know: Joseph Moldover suggests that his fellow writers question why a creative boundary exists, versus merely steering clear in favor of creating within their comfort and knowledge zone (Writer's Digest).

  • What writing YA taught me about storytelling: Author Yasmin Angoe unpacks some of the finer distinctions between writing for younger readers and adults (Writer Unboxed).
