The publishing experts we follow have plenty of business and marketing advice and news to offer.

Here are the ones that we thought were can't-miss for our authors:

  • AI spams and scams: Being in editing mode helped author Jane Loeb Rubin catch a first tiny typo in what turned out to be a scam email, but she's still sharing the extra steps she took to confirm that it was in fact too good to be true (Women Writers, Women's Books).

  • ALLi member Q&A podcast: Michael La Ronn and Sacha Black take on real author questions, including whether to seek a pre-publication legal review, whether to agree to a contract that gives the ISBN to someone else, and more (Alliance of Independent Authors).

  • Self-publishing in German: Joanna Penn has a market-specific interview with Skye MacKinnon about translating, self-publishing, and marketing your books in German (The Creative Penn).
