The publishing experts we follow have plenty of craft and mindset advice to offer.

Here are the ones that we thought were can't-miss for our authors:

  • The psychology of story endings: K.M. Weiland breaks down the common characteristics of satisfying story endings and provides five tips to guide you toward writing one yourself (Helping Writers Become Authors).

  • Writing place as a character in nonfiction: While you hear more about place as character in fiction, author Roger Carlton explains why he saw the setting of his book as its narrative force, not a backdrop (Writer's Digest).

  • No effort is wasted: Writer Natalie Hart shares some valuable insights she received from a recent Hank Green interview about the value of effort, even if it doesn't lead to a clear accomplishment or gain (Writer Unboxed).
