The Man Booker Prize has selected five finalists for a new award to recognize the best novel in the 50 year history of the prize.

The public can now vote for their favorite through early July.

The finalists are:

  • V. S. Naipaul: In a Free State

  • Penelope Lively: Moon Tiger

  • Michael Ondaatje: The English Patient

  • Hilary Mantel: Wolf Hall

  • George Saunders: Lincoln in the Bardo
