The Telegraph newspaper posted an exclusive trailer for The Children Act, an adaptation of an Ian McEwan novel, yesterday.
The best-selling book told the story of Judge Fiona May (Emma Thompson), who is asked to rule on the case of a young boy who is suffering from leukemia and refusing a life-saving blood transfusion on religious grounds.
In turn, the novel was inspired by a UK law known as the Children Act and dedicated to the welfare of minors.
Richard Eyre (Notes on a Scandal, Iris, King Lear) directed the film, which also stars Stanley Tucci as Fiona’s husband.
The movie has previously appeared at film festivals and is set to hit UK cinemas on August 24.
