What it's like designing a "Harry Potter" cover

When illustrator Brian Selznick was asked to design the twentieth-anniversary covers for the Harry Potter series, his first reaction wasn’t what you might think.

He told Amazon Book Review that his immediate thought was “NO!”

After all, he recognized how iconic the originals were — and how much pressure would be on him.

But fortunately, the panic faded into a sense of honor and willingness to rise to the challenge.
