Watch the trailer for “Beautiful Boy”

Amazon Studios posted the trailer for its upcoming movie Beautiful Boy on Wednesday.

The film, based on the bestselling memoir by David Sheff, stars Steve Carell, Timothée Chalamet, Amy Ryan, and Maura Tierney.

It tells a story of survival, relapse, and recovery in a family coping with addiction over many years.

Entertainment Weekly described previous Oscar nominees Carell and Chalamet as possible future winners, based simply on the trailer.

Beautiful Boy will hit theaters October 12.
