As you headed off for the holiday on Tuesday afternoon, you may have missed that Barnes & Noble fired its CEO.

(We’ll admit it — we did!)

Demos Parneros will not receive severance and will be removed from the board immediately, according to CNN Money.

Barnes & Noble said Parneros was fired for violating company policy and that it was not because of any issues relating to “financial reporting, policies or practices or any potential fraud relating thereto.”

Learn more about Parneros and the state of B&N on CNN’s website.
