Every reader (including Fussy) has struggled through trying to recall the name of a beloved book read years ago.
We’re thrilled to report that a blog exists solely to try to solve that problem!

Hi, I'm looking for a children's chapter book about three aunts telling their niece(s) about their travels abroad. I believe their travels were during the Victorian era. They visited France, India and North Africa (Egypt). I believe the author's last name began with "B," but I'm not 100% on that. The book was probably written in the 90s or early 00s.
Book about a young girl who was given a slave for her 10th (or so) birthday. The slave was to do her bidding 24/7 and sleep outside her door on the floor at night in case she needed something. In the end the girl helps the slave (now an adult) and another woman escape via boat. The 2 woman are crudely disguised and one must talk. Intense but they are successful. I read the book within the kastv10 years so I’d say it was written 12 to 7 years ago. Anyone know the title.
