Grading Taylor Swift's literary references

Some of us at Fussy (i.e., the staff who does more of the newswire writing!) are, like former English professor Stacy Pratt, fans of Taylor Swift.

Scratch that — Pratt is a diehard fan, while we just sing along with the Top 40 hits.

Anyway, that doesn’t mean Pratt can’t take an unbiased look at Swift’s literary allusions and grade their accuracy.

Overall, of course, she gives Swift “great big ‘A,’ and not the kind that Hester Prynne wore.”
