On Saturday, a guest columnist for Forbes tweeted a link to his proposal that Amazon stores replace libraries to save money.
Panos Mourdoukoutas, a professor and chair of the Department of Economics at LIU Post, clearly had no idea what a disastrous idea that would be — and we're referring both to the idea of privatizing libraries AND to write a column about it.
Take heart at how many people responded to his tweet with outrage (by clicking on where it says how many people are talking about the tweet), and also let us know if you can access the original column; we're getting a 404 error when we try!
