When your early years were spent knowing just how much you didn’t fit in, what do you do?

If you’re memoirist Michael Arceneaux, you ultimately decide to follow the advice of Beyonce (hey, we’ve done something similar!): “Just be yourself and be very good at what you do.”

Arceneaux went on Fresh Air recently to discuss his new book, I Can't Date Jesus, a collection of essays about his early years in which, as you likely guessed by the post title, he was a black gay Catholic in Texas.
