Shirley Jackson’s famous short story “The Lottery” is headed to the big screen for the first time.

Deadline reported last week that the author’s son Laurence Hyman will serve as executive producer for the feature film project.

“The Lottery,” published in 1948, is a chilling tale of a town’s deadly tradition of sacrificing one community member each year to ensure a good harvest.

Meet some of the big names helping produce the film in the original Deadline post.
