We didn’t intend to share an interview about a novel that explores religious fundamentalism on Sunday, but hey, it happened.

R.O. Kwon’s first novel, The Incendiaries, follows two college students who begin dating as they each work through some personal strife.

Eventually, one member joins a cult, the leader of which is the third narrator of the story.

Weekend Edition’s Renee Montagne talks to Kwon about the novel and, of course, her own religious background in the interview below.
