It’s not always easy to admit that you were wrong.

So we’re giving serious kudos to Princess Weekes, who has publicly retracted her lifelong disdain for romance novels.

Too Wilde to Wed, by Eloisa James, set her on the path to realizing that the genre can — and does — include well-rounded characters.

And the other books she’s enjoyed since then have also reinforced that a love story’s happy ending is just as valid of an escape as what, say, science fiction or historical fiction offer.
