Music lovers who were also fascinated by space had it made in the 1970s.

Those who weren’t around during that era — or who weren’t ready to appreciate the out-there tunes — will just have to live vicariously through a new book.

Author Jason Heller did a role reversal from his occasional critic duties to chat with NPR about his new book, Strange Stars: David Bowie, Pop Music, and the Decade Sci-Fi Exploded.
