Nate Hoffelder at The Digital Reader made an unwelcome discovery this morning.
His early attempts to visit Kobo’s apps-and-ereaders webpage resulted in redirects to the Walmart website.
After a while, he was no longer completely blocked from the Kobo site, but the roadblocks he’s still encountering have raised his suspicions.
(He had wondered, upon hearing of the Kobo-Walmart partnership, how the latter would actually benefit. Now, he theorizes that Kobo is funneling all U.S. readers to purchase through Walmart.)
That said, not all commenters are encountering this issue, so we’ll leave it to you to test, decide, and/or share your own experiences with Hoffelder.
