UPDATED SEPTEMBER 25: Public K-12 schools in the U.S. and Canada are also eligible for free access, in addition to British state schools!

Parents just don’t understand.

The editors at the Oxford English Dictionary are no exception to that rule, either, and they’re well aware of it.

That’s why the OED has launched a public appeal to young people to share their slang terms and phrases.

Examples can be submitted through the OED website or via Twitter, with the hashtag #youthslangappeal.

And take note if you know a student in the U.S., Canada, or United Kingdom — public schools in those countries receive free access to the online OED, as part of this slang-collection effort.
