Chip Kidd has left his mark on more than one well-known book, but Vulture in particular appreciates his work on Haruki Murakami’s oeuvre.

Kidd has designed all of Murakami’s covers since 1993, to the great pleasure of the writer.

So in advance of Murakami’s next release, Lila Shapiro invited Kidd to walk us through his process for creating his ten favorite covers.
