If you or your children are less than excited to be back in school, take heart: Maybe you or they will become a famous author.

(Because correlation equals causation, right? *)

Literary Hub did a roundup of ten highly successful writers who either dropped out of or were kicked out of school.

These ten are all more contemporary, since Lit Hub trusts that you already knew that Mark Twain, Jack Kerouac, Jack London, William Faulkner, Harper Lee, and F. Scott Fitzgerald left academia early.

* This is completely and totally tongue-in-cheek. We know correlation does NOT mean causation.
