Another day, another letter from a famous writer to a loved one on sale.

Well, to be accurate, it’s more like a stash of letters than a single missive.

Hunter S. Thompson sent more than 180 letters over nearly two decades to childhood friend Paul Semonin, and the hundreds of pages he wrote illustrate his progress from teen to struggling writer to bona fide writer.

The Guardian reports that Nate D. Sanders Auctions will make the letters available for purchase on Thursday, with bidding opening at $110,000.

You can read excerpts from the collection in The Guardian’s article.
