Congratulations to the 2018 Man Booker Prize winner!

Congratulations to Anna Burns, who won this year's Man Booker Prize for Milkman!

According to The Guardian, she is the first Northern Irish author to receive the award.

Along with the honor, Burns receives a prize of £50,000 (over $66,000).

She beat out the following five other authors in a unanimous decision:

• Washington Black, by Esi Edugyan (Canada).

• Everything Under, by Daisy Johnson (UK).

• The Mars Room, by Rachel Kushner (US).

• The Overstory, by Richard Powers (US).

• The Long Take, by Robin Robertson (UK).
