Fantasy author Brandon Barr received devastating medical news recently.

The leukemia he has battled since 2015 — with rounds of treatment, remission, and recurrences of the disease — has progressed into a terminal stage. He has, literally, months left to live.

Barr and his family are lucky, however, to have devoted friends who are reaching out to the online community on their behalf.

They exhort readers to consider picking up any or all of his Song of the Worlds series (written while Barr battled leukemia, mind you) to help support his wife and three young sons.

In addition to that, they’ve started a GoFundMe page with the same purpose.

Read more about the series and its interplay with Barr’s fight against leukemia here, buy his books here, and head here to contribute to his GoFundMe.
